Scary

As the rains from Hanna hit Miami and hurricane Ike gets closer, the Marlins hit the road and start a three-gamer against St. Louis.

But the scary thought is this - the Fish in their history are just 2-10, and are now in a 5-game losing streak, in games played on September 5th. The Cards in September 5th games have won 7 of their last 9 (they lost last year, though).

The Fish are 6-5 in Friday away games this year, and have won 3 of their last 4. The Cardinals are 7-4 in Friday home games in 2008, and have won their last 3.

Ricky Nolasco starts tonight for the Fish. The Marlins are "15-5 in the right-hander's last 20 starts, with Nolasco going 11-4 with a 3.18 ERA in those games." Mr. Looper starts for the Cards - he "allowed a career-high eight earned runs in 4 1-3 innings of an 8-5 loss to Houston on Saturday. Looper, however, is 2-0 with a 2.33 ERA in three starts against Florida". (Yahoo)

NO-FEAR: Ricky kept them close, Mike tied it in the ninth, Dan put them in the lead, and Cody made sure as the Marlins beat the Cardinals 4-1. The Fish have won two-in-a-row for the first time in a month. The Mets lose, so the Marlins are now 7 back.
