If the rain goes away, the season ends today for the Fish and, they hope, for the Mets. The Marlins will strive to shut the old stadium down - no sense extending the agony.
A shout-out to Baseball-Reference.com for providing the info for these stats that I've been following since July.
The Fish since their beginning in 1993 are 6-6 in games on September 28, and the Mets in the same period are 6-7. The Marlins on Sept. 28 have won 3 of their last 5, the Mets 2 of their last 5. They faced each other twice before on Sept. 28; a Marlins win in 2003, and another Marlins win in 2007 against today's Mets pitcher, Oliver Perez.
In 2008 the Marlins are 6-6 in Sunday away games (losing 3 of their last 5), and the Mets are 8-6 in Sunday home games (losing 4 of their last 5). They met once already on Sunday at Shea this year, which was a Marlins win on August 10.
Oliver "3-0 with a 2.03 ERA in five starts versus the Marlins this season" Perez and Scott "0-3 with a 6.95 ERA in four starts versus the Mets this season" Olsen are today's starters. (Yahoo)

UPDATE: Hanley's out of the lineup. (PBPBlog)
LAAAAAAAAAA!!!!: Fish beat the Mets 4-2 and ends their season and shuts down their stadium.
