San Antonio Has The Judge's Stadium All Ready...But It's Not Ready For MLB

"Two years ago, a Major League Baseball executive contacted Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff about the possibility of San Antonio as a home for the vagabond Montreal Expos. Team executives spurned an offer of playing a split schedule in minor-league Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio and in Monterrey, Mexico...

"Wolff said he isn't sure if San Antonio is ready to build a stadium and support baseball but thinks that it will be within the next decade....

"With an empty Alamodome, only a 1/8-cent of sales tax left under a state-mandated cap, and hotel occupancy and car rental taxes paying for the Spurs' arena, a new stadium is not likely in the picture, (Mayor Phil) Hardberger and Wolff said." (MySanAntonio.com)
