(Hat tip to weird vic over at FishStripes) Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports that Scott Olsen and Josh Willingham are going to the Nationals for second-baseman Emilio Bonifacio (watch out, Danny) and two guys from the New York-Penn League.
MORE: Mike Berardino says Danny's safe at least until July (watch out Alfredo) and the Fish won't be going after Pudge. (SunSentinel)
EVEN-MORE: Clark Spencer reports Bonifacio "can also play the corner outfield positions". (MiamiHerald)

Makes no sense whatsoever. As with Jacobs, simply another Marlins salary dump. Nothing more. They don't even gain any defense with Bonafacio a career .958, and Uggla a career .982. Improving team speed and defense must be coming from the minors because it's not coming from these trades. It's hard to see where the Marlins are going at this point. So far, these trades have probably cost the team 10 wins with no improvement in return. The Marlins still seem to have too many 1st and 3rd basemen, they still need another outfielder, catcher, a closer, and they need to find another starter because Anibal Sanchez and Andrew Miller are not sure things right now. We're not yet seeing this speed, defense, and pitching improvement that the Marlins keep talking about. Maybe some surprise free agent signings are in the works. As for the Nats, they probably just added their best pitcher and best hitter to their pathetic team.
