Thanksgiving Weekend With Mr. Brattain

Just so we don't forget what's really happening with the Marlins, here's a quick taste of his fog-clearing perspective:

"If a team can¹t survive in the Miami market, it is not because its size (around top 12-15 of MLB marketplaces), it¹s not because of the stadium, or the product (two World Series champions), or the weather. It is because it has dealt with some of the most inept, corrupt, purulent, incompetent obnoxious management this side of Enron.

"They are so far into overdraft in their goodwill account in South Florida it will take years to get it into the black...." (Click Here for More!)

Wow ... you folks don't miss a trick do you? Even a blog that's barely a month old and a post that's not even a day old and you find it.

Oh well, the link is always appreciated. I feel so badly for Marlins fans. Watching Cabrera hit the (trade) market reminds me of when Vladdy hit the (free agent) marketplace.

So much talent, such a great GM and such idiotic ownership.

You folks deserve much better. As an old Expos fan I feel the pain. There is no reason a deal for a new ballpark can't be done save for the sheer greed of MLB.

(shakes head)

Keep a happy thought. You have probably got the most underrated GM in the game. If Cabrera goes, I'm sure Mr. Beinfest will get some serious talent back.

Best Regards

John
