If Vegas is such a great option, why didn't MLB move the Expos there instead of DC?

I don't get it. I suppose Loria won't have much choice if the stadium doesn't go through and if things are really as bad as he says. I'm just not convinced that Vegas is any better.

Hey, I just posted a entry linking to a story from Vegas that says that even with all the dough flowing through there, they still need to find 'creative' ways to finance a ballpark - in other words, just like our situation. Vegas is used the way Tampa was used before the Devil Rays, as a threat to goad cities to acquiesce to their teams' demands. At this moment they have no viable place to play and no financial plan to provide one. SoFla has a place to play now, and a finance plan that's been stopped but has resurrection possibilities.
