Just Another Game

The Cubs come to town. The Fish so far this year have shown all the defensive flair of last year. But now that the Marlins have their dead rally bird every thing should be all right. The slower Josh Johnson and Ryan Dempster are scheduled to start.

Quiet Before the Storm?

The Marlins take their 3rd day off in 10 games today. As the world waits another day of anticipation to see what will happen when Ozzie oozes back onto the field, the rest of the NL East play ...

Back to the Dome Home

The Marlins arrive back "home", on Friday the 13th no less, to have a series with the 'stros, for the third Fish game managed by Joey Cora.

Reports report that there were no overt protests at the ballpark tonight (so far). Maybe anger over Ozzie's obnoxious Castro comment may have been tempered by remembering that last month someone had a nice friendy chat with the evil tyrant and yet there were no calls for that person's resignation or boycotts of his many establishments.

Nolasco and Harrell aim for the fish tanks tonight.

Time for Monday Baseball....

Ozzie Explains at 10:30 Today

If he finds a way to continue as Marlins manager he would be much greater than Fidel, since he wouldn't have to kill anyone to stay in power.

Here's one Cuban-American, anti-santeria viewpoint.

UPDATE: Ozzie gets suspended for 5 days. Some angry exiles are shouting for Guillen's removal. They're not only angry at his admiring Fidel for being able to stay in power for the last 50 years, but they're also angry at Ozzie for reminding them and the world of the other implied meaning of his statement - that the Cuban exiles have failed at getting rid of Fidel for the last 50 years.

Mad Monday

In today's action the Fish win over the Phillies 6-2.

Here's the rest of tonight's action...

And in tomorrow's action Ozzie will appear at Marlins Park, probably wearing red-orange Kevlar, to once again apologize to those who consider apologies unacceptable. And somewhere under the outfield bleachers, Jeffrey will probably be dusting off old Trader Jack again.
