Eovaluation

Reports are Nathan Eovaldi is a bit behind Jacob Turner in the impressing-department, but he has a relative up north who's rooting for him. Today Eovaldi is flinging for the Fish. The Mets are here for the weekend, featuring the powerhouse knuckleball of R.A. Dickey flying off the mound tonight.

Breather

Today is the Marlins' last scheduled day off for this season that is not also a travel day. Sleep well, my friends - Ozzie wants you well for next year.

31 games to go. In the battle for anything-but-last place in the NL East the Marlins are 2.5 games behind the Mets and Phils. Those two losers play each other tonight.

Sweep Out The Nats?

Congrats to Ricky, who got a shutout against Strasburg and the Nats last night.

Obviously Marlins Park survived Tropical Storm Issac, though it makes me wonder what will happen if a real hurricane hits during a home stand.

Tonight the Nats play their last game in Marlins Park for this year. Pitching will be Jacob Turner and Ross Detwiler.

Back Home

Stanton was last week's NL Player of the Week.

26 of the Fish' remaining 33 games this season are against the other NL East teams (21 of the 33 are Marlin home games). Washington, 20 games ahead of Miami in the standings, play the Marlins in a 2-game series in Little Havana starting tonight. For the third time this year it's Strasburg vs. Nolasco.

Travel Day

Back to blustery Miami the team goes. Atlanta is the onlyNL East team playing tonight.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Success

No matter how today's game turns out, it finishes up a winning record of the Marlins over the NL West this year, a small plus in a disappointing season.

Buehrle and Harang do the tossing today. (Surprise: Harang has never faced the Marlins before EDIT: this year, that is).

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Two More Chances

Tonight on XM radio, another chance to hear Vin Scully describe the Marlins. Now that the big trade's complete, it's Kershaw and Johnson in the mound tonight.

Weekend in L.A.

While the former Marlins are enjoying their new lives, the present Marlins will play their last series this year against the NL West. Eovaldi pitches against his old team, while Billingsley pitches for Hanley's team.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Double-Headache

So now the Marlins won 4 of their last 7 games.

Jacob Turner will have another start. Boni gets another trip to the DL (Dan Jennings is called up). The Fish finish up on 'The Franchise'. And the team has a day off to get to L.A. The baseball world continues, though...

Amazing But True

Those of us on the East Coast turning off the game after Arizona's 5-run first inning missed a 6-5 Marlins win in the 10th.

The Fish have won 4 of their last 5 games.

Bonifacio's sore again. But Justin Upton's having problems too.

Today's the day of the afore-mentioned double-header, brought to you courtesy of the Basic Agreement. Arizona's starters should be Wade Miley, and the MLB debut of Tyler Skaggs. The Marlins will bring out Wade LeBlanc, and introduce Jacob Turner.

Rising From The Ashes

Last night the Marlins stamped out the Diamondbacks with 20 hits and 12 runs. Though the Fish won't be seen on 'The Franchise' past tonight's episode, all eyes will be watching to see Jacob Turner pitch in Wednesday's doubleheader. But there's still a single-header to get through tonight. Ricky Nolasco and Trevor Cahill start.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Hiss!

The Marlins go to Chase Field for 4 games, including the first-ever double-header at Chase Field on Wednesday. (Many deals are availble for Snake fans who go to both Wednesday games, including an Irish Nacho deal at a place called the Tilted Kilt, which is attempting to put itself into the empty Shoppes at Marlins Park to excite the Little Havana neighborhood). Today, Arizona is on a 4-game win streak, and will start Joe Saunders, while the Fish go with Mark Buehrle.

Series Finale

The Fish win two 6-5 games in a row. They have a chance to win the series today, and Giancarlo could continue to make history today. The Marlins brought back Bonifacio and Murphy. Josh Johnson and Drew Pomeranz start today.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Mile High Game 3

The Marlins squeaked out a win last night. Nathan Eovaldi and Tyler Chatwood start tonight.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Correction: At Denver With The Rocks

What's an error of a couple of thousand miles, anyway? So, with Nick Green on the DL, Gil Velazquez playing, Greg Dobbs playing sore, and Jacob Turner a possible call-up, the Marlins continue in Denver. Wade LeBlanc and Jeff Francis are supposed to start.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

At Home With The Rocks

Colorado come to town for four games. Pitching tonight will be Ricky Nolasco and Alex White.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Avoiding 4-In-A-Row

Can the Marlins put a number on the board higher than zero? This afternoon its Mark Buehrle and Roy Halladay on the mound.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

No Runs, No Fun

The Marlins are going through another non-scoring binge. Kyle Kendrick needs all the non-scoring he can get, and Josh Johnson's job will be that much harder.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

The Cheesesteaks Arrive

As Emilio works to get back, the Fish stay at home for a Phillies series. Eovaldi and Hamels start. Today's the fantasy auction.

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

Weekend in Li'l Havana

The Fish win on Saturday...

(Yahoo)(ESPN)(CBSSports)(MLB)(FOX)(CNNSI)

...and today Nolasco and Capuano battle in the rubber game.
